NCHR Received 1241 Complains In Two Years, only one complain received from Gilgit Baltistan during this duration

ISLAMABAD: National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) received 1241 complains of human rights violations during last two years including 322 Suo Motu notices and 919 complains from general public within time period of December 2015 to December 2017.
So far, the commission has disposed off 496 cases, while 182 are still in hearing and 563 under investigation at initial stages, an official told APP.
Among these reported cases, Punjab remained highest with 514 cases including 369 complains and 145 Suo Motu notices, followed by Sindh from where 255 cases were registered including 218 complains and 37 Suo Moto notices.
As many as 207 cases were received from Islamabad Capital Territory with 160 complains and 47 Suo Moto notices while 185 cases from Khaber Pakhunkhwa including 129 complains and 56 Suo Moto notices, 42 from Balochistan from where just 14 compalins were received and 28 cases were taken as Suo Moto by the commission itself.
FATA complains remained 20 with 14 reported by people and six by commission as Suo Moto, whereas the commission also deal with 17 cases from abroad having 14 on complains of overseas Pakistanis and three taken as Suo Moto and only one complain received from Gilgit Baltistan during this duration.
