Admiring Story Of Muhammad Kazim Shigari

Writing about myself, my family, and about my life timeline would be very difficult for me as it was full of hardships. My name is Muhammad Kazim Shigari. I was born in a small beautiful but one of backward villages of Gilgit Baltistan, “Thorgo” district Shigar, from where my family had to migrate due to the lack of basic facilities. Where people had to travel by feet for hours for health care facilities and secondary education.
My family moved Quetta, Balochistan, where my father worked in several private institutions as a gardener. He worked for more than thirty years in inhumane working conditions and provided us every basic need of life from food to the better education that he could afford. After my matriculation from Yazadan Khan Model High school in 1st division, I started working in a medical store to support my family for 500 PKRs monthly salary which later raised to 14,000 in 4 years. Meanwhile, I continued my educational career in the field of Pre-Engineering, which was affected due to work and I failed in Mathematics in 1st year exams though I didn’t give up. I passed my FSc in 2nd divisions in my 1st attempt.

 F. Sc would be my last educational degree due to the financial status my family, however, an event really inspired me to get  higher education. My elder brother Mohammad Baqir stood Gold Medalist in programme of BS Economics from Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) Quetta. My mother was the one who had taken the stand for my eldest brother to get higher education. He became  role model for me.

When I started to believe that education is the only key to success. I tried to make my family proud and acknowledge the hardships of my father that he had borne to provide us quality education. I got admission in BS (IR). I topped in first semester with the CGPA of 3.80 in 2013 and I secured merit scholarship throughout the program. I started to maintain my position in class instead of self-centered studies I taught my classmates as well. It is my belief that we must share what we have, so I share my knowledge and skills to others. My aim in university life was to support every classmate in their studies because it to gave me a satisfaction. I used to study for myself and also for other classmates in their studies.
Finally, with the grace of Almighty Allah, prayers of my parents, and dedication of my teachers I stood Gold Medalist of my class of BS International Relations Batch Fall-13 from BUITEMS. I dedicate my Gold Medal to all inhabitants of Gilgit Baltistan, my family, and to all those people who were with me throughout my struggle.
