GB govt committed to women’s empowerment: Munira
President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) women wing of the district chapter, Munira on Thursday said Gilgit-Baltistan government was committed to take tangible measures for the socio-economic development of the womenfolk.
Talking to media persons, she said the government had initiated a number of projects for the welfare of underprivileged areas of the country including GB, adding that utmost efforts were made to protect rights and ensure justice for the women.
She said the provincial government was taking much interest in development of women in education, health and social sectors which would benefit thousands of women in GB.
Among other projects, she said Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) had served as social safety net which were targeting womenfolk by disbursing cash grants to empower them economically.

She said “I would take up the issues concerning women at all forums to resolve pending issues of women in the district and initiate new welfare-oriented projects for them”
